About The Buckinghamshire Situated on 600 acres of glorious undulating heathland, just south of Oxford city, Frilford Heath is built on a sandy subsoil this combined with the latest equipment and modern maintenance schedules enables the Club to present the courses to the finest playing standards all year round.
Frilford's Red course was designed by five-times Open champion JH Taylor, whose other courses include Royal Birkdale and Royal Mid-Surrey. We continue to attract major amateur events organised by the Royal and Ancient, English Golf Union and British and English Ladies Golf Association with most recently the England v France match in 2008, our centenary year.
The Buckinghamshire, affectionately known as the 'Bucks' by its fans, is a majestic golf course and stately home, surrounded by lakes and rare wildlife. Headed by Irish golf legend John O'Leary it is widely regarded as one of the most breathtaking golf courses in England. Denham Court Mansion is a historic Grade II listed English manor house of predominantly eighteen century origin, although part of the building is over 700 hundred years old. Once the home to the Bowyer family, the house is situated in a magnificent riverside setting surrounded by landscape gardens and 226 acres of wooded parkland. The Course The course was created by the legendary John Jacobs O.B.E., former European Tour player, Ryder Cup Captain and in recent year’s renowned course designer. His skilful use of the natural feature and local topography, allied to the devoted skill of our greenkeeping staff who present the course to the highest standards year round have meant that our course has quickly become recognised as one of the finest inland courses in the British Isles. The course runs in two loops of nine, starting and finishing at the clubhouse. The fairways wander through there distinct areas incorporating woodland, lakes and rivers and undulating links style land providing a great variety of golfing terrain. The greens are constructed to USGA specification providing the ultimate in drainage and the smooth true putting surfaces are mown from high quality ‘Pennlinks’ grass.    Book a Practice round
