  • It is a shame Matthew as i think the Trilby Tour is THE best event for the club golfer only hope you stick with it
    groups.wall 310 days ago
  • Hi Kevin
Yes, i phoned about an hour and half before i arrived, to let them know it was touch and go.
I am the sort of bloke that would be half an hour early rather than 2 minutes late normally, and you dont get thought any better of, late one time and im punished.
I had my bag and other accesories which are worth the £250 i suppose, just not sure i am going to bother next year, which is a shame.

  • Great day at The Nottinghamshire well done to everyone involved in making this happen when it was in doubt a few days before, nice to see WH again who was quite gentle with me last year on my 1st TT but really tried to get inside my head this year, but thats the TT boys, also nice to see the eternal bridesmaid again who I managed to beat by 1 single point lol,(should have had a side bet I think WH can guess what the bet would have been) but yet again I finished as a nearly man after 18 on the back 9 and a poor front 9 which just makes me more keen for next years event with my boy on the bag again. But most important my congratulations go to the top 10 qualifiers well done boys on a tough day.
    groups.wall 310 days ago
  • Did you ring and let them know . If not Matthew rules are rules pal we all know them when we sign up
I know it tuff but thats the way it is i have played in three and WH is the same with us all he does not want to DQ any one but as he has said it does not hurt him to DQ
    groups.wall 310 days ago
  • Absolutely Gutted. I live 50 mile away and set off 3 hours before my tee time.
Got stuck on A38 due to flood water and turned up 15 mins before my tee time off 10.20am. Only to be turned away and disqualified.
I know theres rules, but this was completley out my hands. I feel i should have an entry into one of the remaining championships, what do you guys think?
    groups.wall 310 days ago
  • Thank you WH and your team for a great day . and thank you to the green staff of the Nottinghamshire what a great job they did to keep it open happy days

    groups.wall 312 days ago

  • Least it wont be snowing and solid with the ball pinging all over the place. lets get the sticks out and hit the little white ball before the big wet green one!

My Caddie now doesnt have an outfit because if its raining i will be wearing his boiler suit!
    groups.wall 312 days ago
  • It will be the same for us all hopefully. Fair play to everyone at The Nottinghamshire GC, the team are doing everything to get this game on. They've got a couple of compressors on the go but I think to be fair it's a lost cause in places given the weather forecast. I've attached a couple of photos from a round this eveing. Most of the bunkers are not playable (at the moment i hasten to add), I cropped out the life guard. These are from the 'good' holes. I really want this to happen and today has been a good weather day. I know there are tv shedules to consider but there are also two brands to consider too I guess, WH and The Nottinghamshire GC (as if i I needed to point that out). Given Tuesdays forecast, I never thought I'd say this..in fact no I won't. Whatever the outcome i'm going to enjoy it for what it is! i only live round the corner so that easier for me to say than some of you guys with travel plans may the best man win, and not the weather.
    groups.wall 313 days ago
  • Allways a chance WH see you Tuesday and 6 am start 6 30 pm for the play offs sounds good to me lo dont think my caddie will be happy but A O thats life
    groups.wall 313 days ago
  • Shaun yes you are entitled to an opinion and i for one would not have it any other way , just told my caddie he has to be up at 4am on the big day , well you dont want to stop in bed all day lol . Lets hope it stops dry for us all Shaun and good luck on the day lets all play well play fair but most of all have a good time
    groups.wall 313 days ago
  • Shaun it will be the same for us all pal lots of places shut around here as you may allready know we have booked time off work like lots of others so lets hope it stops dry if not playing 16 of one and 2 from the other sounds alot better than playing none at all . Lets just get on with it WH after all this is ENGLAND as golfers we should be used to the rain and water by now lol

  • Just been told they have 16 holes open today, and as long as weather holds off they will play 2 holes from the Masters course to make 18 for us which is just making do. Cant say im happy, and if a decision is going to be made before 12 noon Monday, what about the heavy rain thats forecast for Monday Night and most of Tuesday, once its been confirmed open or play has started they cant really abandon the comp half way through, but im sure they have thought of that. I Hope!
Its going to be a mud bath. Especially with spectators stomping around as well.
    groups.wall 313 days ago

  • hi all
anyone playing the course over the next couple of weeks? pref in the week rather than weekend?
need a practice round and time is running out !!!!!
    groups.wall 344 days ago
  • just played the open course and its looking very nice shot 33 points with a blob on the 18th being a bit greedy. greens were a bit slower than my home club but it looked as though they needed a cut. clubhouse and pro shop very welcoming and well stocked. Cannot wait for the 10th july although the 1st tee is right outside the clubhouse with plenty of room for spectators so take some loo roll.
P.S a question for WH could the winner get a date with the manageress that would definetly make everyone up their game ha ha.
    groups.wall 349 days ago

  • I am playing in the pre qualifier at the Nottinghamshire next sunday.... is anyone else ? ...if so Has anyone had the tee-off times?
    groups.wall 363 days ago
  • Hi all played the Nottinghamshire yesterday they tod me they are a few weeks behind with the greens and they would be super fast. They were quick yesterday and if you get on the wrong side of the hole we will have some very interesting putts. It will be a good test and interesting opening few holes where some good decisions have to be made. Have fun lads and get a practice round if you can.
    Cheers
